You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. some may be significant only to you. some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience. - President Hinckley

Winter Festival!

So, we decided to do a "mini-vacation" with the kids. We drove about 90 miles north and stayed overnight in a hotel. The point was the see the beautiful snow sculptures that the locals do every year....very talented. As you can see below, we did see some, but the kids didn't want to keep coats on , their hands were cold from slipping in the snow and they finally zonked. The highlight of the trip for them was staying in a hotel and swimming. And yes, I was there....I just took all the pictures. Every phone (2 total) in the room had to be unplugged....Tyler loved them.

Tyler just didn't want to get back in the car, plus he had just fallen in the snow.

Gwennie was trying to warm her hands after she had just fallen...she couldn't reach the heater very well.

We couldn't get Hunter to "swim" away from the steps for a long time...but he finally did and I didn't get a picture of him doing it. Gwennie had no issues and neither did Tye. But Tye loved to run and bit it a few times on the wet floor.

Oh this one is a contribution from our neighborhood to the snow sculptures...my dad took the pictures...leaning tower of snowman...we're not sure how in the world it's still standing - sort of.

All in all, our 17-18 hour trip being away from home, was fun. Hotel, swim, dinner, play in room, sleep, breakfast, swim, snow sculptures, drive home. Lots of good memories.

Mishaps and Ramblings...

It snowed yesterday and a little bit today. I always think the bare trees look so pretty laced with snow, so I took a picture. As for the events of the weeks following my last post - here they are in a nutshell.

Hunter was riding on Tye's little ride on bike and bit it on the wood....he knew he'd be in trouble for riding it in the first place so he got up and started laughing....but after he felt his head, he was definitely on the verge of tears. It was and still is a nasty bruise and bump. It has gone down significantly.

Tyler has been the happiest ever lately. Loves life. In fact I checked him (as I check all my babies before I go to bed) and he woke up when I covered him...he saw me and gave me the biggest grin and high pitched scream of delight. It was cute, then he laid back down and went to sleep.

Gwendalin mostly hangs out and tries to aggravate Hunter and Tye (they do the same). She hears music and tells me to dance or play my guitar (air guitar). I guess she picked it up from preschool.

And finally, this is a buffalo that lives in a field down the street from us. Random I know, but he's fun to look at when we drive by.

Vacation here we come!

So, we have been debating what do to for a vacation in the future and so, I polled Hunter to see what his opinion was. Here's how the conversation went:

Mom: Where would you like to go for a vacation?

Hunter: Texas.

Mom: Why?

Hunter: So we can look for cowboys and find dirt lots to ride on.

So, folks it looks like we may be taking trip to Texas. I just thought it was cute logic. His other question was whether or not he could bring his pocket knife with him on vacation....

Happy New 2008!

So this past week I have washed Tye's sheets/bedding at least 3 times because he has puked in his sleep. (I think it's his teeth). I have rearranged my whole house to make room for our office to be here again rather than at the shop. Thanks to my mom, there is still room to sit down in the room of death. My home desk has to go in there because we have to fit 2 more desks in the office and 3 more filing cabinets plus the big copy machine ....the room is not that large. Anyway, so my piano had to be moved, I bought another desk for the room of death to hold my home computer and I have been boxing up all of 2007 business stuff. Sometime in the near future I need to get it together and get my employee's from last year their W-2's and my subcontractor's their 1099's. Here are a few pictures of the almost finished products of rearrangement....we are awaiting the office stuff to come from the shop this afternoon.
