The Dust...

Since we thought it was a great idea to add this room right at Christmas time...we had a little fun with all the dust!  Snitch was here for Christmas and believe it or not, I dusted in the morning and by evening there was this much dust on the entertainment center again.  The next night or a few after, he hung from the ceiling fan - and when Marie arrived Dallin announced that "the little fetcher" was up in the light.  HA HA!

A Massive Project Part 4 (Painting)

The flurries you see in the pictures below are dust particles coming from the drywall process one morning when I got up to paint....these are some of the pictures of painting - the ceilings got done, and all the walls...While Marie was here at Christmas, she helped me do my room and the furninture was barely moved out from the wall, so I scrunched between the two to be able to paint some of the spaces.  The rest of my room got done (the portion behind my bed) when we had to move all the furniture to lay carpet.

 Drywall is by far my least favorite step in adding a room or changing a wall.  The dust and amount of sanding and mudding was unreal.  Travis did an amazing job though and the walls look fantastic!

After we got home form our Thanksgiving trip, we decided we were going to add a room in our house.  We would use the space above the entry and create an additional room there.  Here are the before pictures of the entry area.  And also the downstairs family room before the entire house was repainted and drywalled.

I Chose not to be offended....

It is so nice when it snows to have a plow for the 4 wheeler.  We always plow our neighbor, Bill's driveway and walkway...I do not want him to fall trying to do it.  This particular day Travis got our sidewalks done and then did Bill's with help from Dallin and I.   The previous snow - we had gone to a morning appointment (I can't remember what it was now) and came home and saw that all the sidewalks and driveways had been done on our street, but the plowing stopped at our property line.  I was so upset by this - thinking that someone didn't like us...my feelings were hurt.  After all, we ALWAYS try to go the extra mile for our neighbors.  I stewed about it all day , and  like he does every time, Travis brought me back to reality -" this was not a big deal".  It was after this snow and seeing all the "plowers" out and about that I realized that the other neighbor plower knew we had a plow and that's why he didn't plow for us that day.  Duh....Marie, not everyone has it out for the Chesley's.  I learned a valuable lesson, because the other plow owner who had done all the neighbors that day and not ours is one of the nicest people on the planet.  Lesson learned.

A cousin Date with Roller Skates!!

New Year's Day: Jake went bird hunting with Travis and Matthew, So Trish, Lynn , and I took the kids and went to the roller drome for some good fun roller skating.  The kids had a blast...and at the end they did racing for different age groups.  Trish, Lynn and I did it for the 25-up.  I suggested that we hold hands and just leisurely skate around the rink....but then the whistle blew and I took off....I think I came in 3rd.  I had no idea I was so competitive.
