The last of the Great Outdoors....

We took a final camping trip last week because the kids had 2 days off of school and because the campgrounds are going to close soon. Mom and dad will likely be gone next year and we won't be able to use their trailer if they take it, so we took advantage of one more trip. It was FREEZING! But still so fun. Hunter started fires, made fishing poles from long tree branches and wire coat hangers, the kids played games, played in the water, slept in the car, and got lots of dirty! It was super fun and memories were made! We took pictures by the well at the campground - my parents have similar shots of us in Colorado- so we thought it would be fun to have these to compare with.

We took a drive up the mountain on one afternoon so mom could take a nap...my kids napped too, in the car- I had to uncover Hunter's head...he had burried it in the blanket.

Grandma got a new phone with games on it - the kids loved taking turns playing!

At night after bathtime and before scriptures and bed - my kids like to hang out on my bed and watch cartoons. I captured a few shots last week -

So Hunter is a "die hard" Boise State fan. Sad thing is Travis and I both went to school there (Travis graduated from there) and we just don't super care to watch the entire football game every time they play. anyway, Hunter wants to go to an actual game and so he called Grandpa Slade - the football man - he wanted to go to the Oregon State Game - but dad told him they couldn't get tickets...so instead he could invite some friends and they could have a party of sorts and watch it on the back patio at grandpa's house. Hunter was thrilled and that's what they did - Gwendalin even tagged along!

Hunter's piano recital and big project

Hunter came home from school the other day in these clothes. They are not what I sent him to school in. Apparently he was playing at recess (either soccer or football) and slid into dog poop and these are the clothes he got from the nurse...he said he picked them. They were so nice. He wanted to pose for the fashion shot. He had his first big project last month. It was to build 10 landforms out of salt dough. He had to label them and paint them and then make a poster defining each item on his diagram. I made the dough and offered some suggestions (like the toothpicks) and he did everything. He was super discouraged because when he got to school he saw that some of the projects were perfectly molded. I knew after talking to another parent that thier student didn't have "time" and so they were doing most of it for them. Well, after hearing how discoraged he was over his project I e-mailed the teacher because I wanted her to know how hard he worked on it and that he had done it ALL on his own. He ended up with a great grade and lots of good praise. I was proud of him and upset at other parents who did the project for their kids.

Tyler watned to try on the pumpkin costume the other day - I snapped a few pictures of the little guy! He's so cute....and such a ham for the camera.

We watchted our neighbor's kids the other night and I got some cute ones of her baby with a few of my kids...I couldn't resist! Cameron and Dallin in this picture and Cameron and Tyler in the one following.

We braided Gwendalin's hair and wore it "curly" to school. She wanted a picture - and we got one. She is so beautiful...it's scary. Her hand is over her shirt to cover a chocolate milk spill just before she got on the bus.

This is Dallin- if you look closely he is putting rocks in his pants while we were at soccer. The following picture is him walking away and the rocks falling out.

Tyler wasn't feeling well and took a bowl with him in the car - luckily he didn't puke until we got home, but I snapped this picture of him - cause he's just so stinkin sweet!
