You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. some may be significant only to you. some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience. - President Hinckley

Spiders

This is so funny I had to share. We went camping a few weeks back and Hunter has been very fearful of spiders lately. Well, down by the river there was a spider the size of a spec (very tiny) that somehow got on his hand. He was terrified. Travis had him shake his hand and it fell off. During the ride home he would not stop talking about it. He kept saying spiders bite. After we told him that not all spiders bite he was still not satisified and he responded with..."but dad, I saw his head going down to bite my hand." After roars of laughter on mine and Travis' part we calmly asked "How could you tell - you could barely see the spider ...let alone his head."

I do not agree

I must admit, I love each of my children, but there are times I could pull all of my hair out because of something they are doing or did.

Lately, Hunter has been on an "I do not agree" kick: picking movies, toys, clothes, any decision. He fights with Gwendalin over it and then says to me "well, mom, I do not agree." He is trying his best to find a way to achieve his own goals. Pretty
ingenious if you ask me. It is pretty darling, but frustrating all at the same time.

Anyway today we were at the library for story time...and an hour after we arrive and are getting ready to leave, the librarian comes around the corner and says "There is a boy and a girl in the bathroom screaming." Well, I had heard it but it couldn't possibly be my child right? wrong! I walked over and he and the neighbor girl (Kylie) are in the bathroom washing hands screaming...so I yanked him out and told him that we weren't allowed to come back to the library because he was in the girl's bathroom #1, and #2 he was screaming. AGH! It was so embarassing!

See how fun we are!

Ephiphanal Moment

Drawing by Traci Douglass

In preparing to teach a lesson on counseling with the Lord to the Laurels on Sunday, I have re realized the importance of it along with its simplicity. I came across a quote in a talk by Elder Wirthlin that has struck me: Every person on the earth today lived at one time in heavenly realms. We walked with our Heavenly Father. We knew Him. We heard His voice. We loved Him. And although we were eager to enter mortality and continue our progression, we must have regretted the separation that would accompany it. We must have sorrowed that a veil would cover our eyes and the bright memories of our lives would be cloaked in the forgetfulness of mortality. How we must have yearned to stay close to our Father in Heaven. How me must have covenanted to ever reach after Him and commune with Him.

Boulder Creek Vinyl

So, I thought it would be fun to post a few pix of my sweetheart's business venture. We own and operate Boulder Creek Vinyl since November 2005. Keeps us insanely busy - but nonetheless - he loves being his own boss. Here are a few pictures of he and his business partener (Tricia's husband), Matthew working on a job - along with my dad who saves our booty's by helping out!

Cleaning the Garage

Although cleaning the garage is anything but fun...I thoughorly enjoyed it! This week I got a new cabinet to hold more crap along with a rake/shovel holder to help organize my garage. We are still far from finished, but it feels so MUCH BETTER! Travis has his hunting garb in one place and all the bikes and other "things" are in their places.

Gwennie and Ty had fun helping - Tyler climbed into the bike trailer and found old snacks to munch on. Gwennie soon joined him and entertained him for a while! During all of this Hunter was somewhere in the neighborhood socializing with anyone and everyone who cared to enjoy his company.

Today was funny becuase he (Hunter) put on jeans and a t-shirt and came in the house a few minutes later only to tell me that no one told him he looked good. He was a little disgruntled about it...so I told him how unbelievable handsome he was.

Oh to be young again!

It's so fun to watch my kids be kids! In fact, in some respects I am a little envious. I want a razor scooter and I want a big wheel. The carefree world they live in RULES! I remember staying out late (when it was light until 10:00) playing and playing and being upset when I had to come in...Travis lived in a different kind of neighborhood so he didn't know that having a billion kids on the road playing was absolutely normal. My kids love any chance they get to go outside.

Monday night
was especially eventful, as Hunter tried to ride his scooter with roller blades on. Crashing painfully into the scooter and puncturing his forehead. We opted for no trip to the ER and butterflied it instead.

Gwendalin just got a helmet as a result of that mishap and loves to wear it while riding h
er tricycles and big wheels. Although it's misery to get her to stay in her bed at night...she's still stinkin cute!

Tyler loves to get into and eat everything. Rocks, dirt, bugs, etc. yuummy! Keeps me crazy busy - but he's swell! Loves to be social so he's definately related to the first two!
